Tim Shriver has a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. He has been a Senior Research Specialist in the Stable Isotope Ratio Laboratory since 1997. He is the person responsible for the day-to-day operation of the isotope ratio mass spectrometer, annual preventive maintenance, and, as needed, the repair of the instrument. Through these efforts, he has acquired extensive experience with the Thermo Fisher software operating system, daily quality control of the isotope ratio data, isotope calculations, and vacuum system maintenance. He also communicates with Thermo Fisher mass spectrometer personnel to diagnose and replace occasional failed electronic modules, dedicated instrument computer systems, autoinjectors, and inlet systems.
Mr. Shriver has expertise in isotope hydrology, food web analysis through the application of natural abundance isotope analysis, and sample handling for water, blood products, and bulk tissues from animals and humans.
